AEMT 2005 edition is starting soon – AEMT Advanced European Media Training, the training program for communicators from East Europe.
Unidea – UniCredit Foundation is at the second edition of AEMT – Advanced European Media Training – the advanced training program for journalists and communicators from East Europe realized in collaboration with the press agency ApCom and the International Institute Jacques Maritain. This edition in Bulgaria is also in collaboration with the partners Bulgarian Media Coalition and Media Development Center.
The first edition of AEMT is implemented in 2004 to encourage education and training in communication and journalism in East Europe. The purpose of the program is strengthening young professionals skills in an independent information contest open at international level. The program wants to provide young journalists with new interpretation and comprehension tools to have new opportunities in the information and communication sector while exploiting western media experience and gaining strictly from them skills and knowledge.
The Bulgarian edition is meant to satisfy Bulgarian journalists necessities and improve their competences according to the code of conduct and professional standards of their colleagues of the European Union countries. The AEMT program gives to Bulgarian journalists the opportunity of deepening some aspects of their education, which is particularly requested by Bulgarian media operators at this time of pre-adhesion to the UE, through an international experience. Moreover, the program wants to strengthen intercultural dialogue and exchange between New and Old Europe. AEMT is scheduled in two stages, the first one takes place in the participant provenance countries in collaboration with local bodies specialized in media and communication, while the second stage takes place in Italy and comprises workshop with international experts and guided visits to important organisms and main newspapers, radios, televisions and press agencies headquarters.
Participants have different backgrounds and are young professionals aged between 22 and 35 with high education and work experience in newspapers, radios and televisions, willing to gain new tools and improve their own skills in communication and information matters.
The call for candidates selection will be open from the 8th to 30th of September. The course starts in October 2005 and lasts five months.
