Bulgaria: "Home Care Centre" projected has been awarded

The jury pointed out the joint project of UniCredit Foundation, UniCredit Bulbank and the Bulgarian Red Cross to build home-care centers for elderly people in Dobrich and Smolyan. 
The project was launched last year and UniCredit Foundation provided the full amount of the necessary funding.

UniCredit Bulbank CEO - Levon Hampartzoumian was awarded by the Chairman of the Bulgarian Donors' Forum. Important institutional representatives.

"For us supporting the various projects and social groups is just as important as serve our customers 
at the highest level", said Hampartzoumian. He explained corporate social responsibility as "company awareness to help the poorer ordisadvantaged citizens and to identify any possible solutions to social problems". The commitment in the development of the local communities, we live in, is an important part of UniCredit mission.

„This award is surely the result of a strong and an effective cooperation between  UniCredit Bulbank, UniCredit Foundation and Bulgarian Red Cross. I am very proud of this result and I hope this project can become a best-practice for the Bulgarian non-profit field”, commented Maurizio Carrara, President of UniCredit Foundation.

In addition to the building project of home-care centers in the regions that are most affected by the migration of young people, last year UniCredit Foundation supported six projects in Bulgaria. These are the other activities, included in the Gift Matching Program of UniCredit Bulbank: "Hot Lunch" project, fund-raising for child victims of road accidents, scholarships for orphans, kids-camps for children with neuromuscular diseases home-care for the elderly people

In 2010 the total amount of joint donations of UniCredit Bulbank colleagues, matched by UniCredit Foundation for social projects, was around BGN 550.000.
