UniCredit Foundation increases its support against the spread of COVID-19, already started since March 3 with the donation of 500 thousand euros in favor of the Department of Civil Protection for the purchase of masks, sanitary material and medical devices. It was the first and immediate signal to confirm the closeness of the UniCredit Foundation to the affected populations and to the structures as the Civil Protection who are in the front row in the fight against the spread of the virus.

This initiative was followed today by the donation of 200,000 euros to the Policlinico of Milan (Fondazione IRCCS Ca 'Granda), one of the best public hospitals for the scientific research. The aim is to support two important projects: the creation of a new infectious disease hospital unit and the infectious disease research project to improve the prevention and effectiveness of treatments against COVID-19.

Today we added the fundraising campaign "COVID 19 - CALL FOR ACTION" launched among UniCredit employees to reiterate that "to do well, we must do good". The sum collected will be used to support three Italian hospitals most involved in the fight against Coronavirus, not only for patient assistance but also for scientific research, such as:

·         Istituto Nazionale per le Malattie Infettive Lazzaro Spallanzani of Rome

·         Hospital Luigi Sacco of Milan

·         IRCCS Foundation Policlinico San Matteo of Pavia

UniCredit Foundation will make available the sum of € 1,000,000 to the initiative. Thanks to this sum, each donation received will be integrated by the Foundation with a contribution that may go up to 10 times the amount donated.
