For UniCredit Foundation, the involvement and support of Group employees in social and voluntary initiatives as well as in study and research activities, is a priority in its action plan.
The promotion of the culture of volunteering and donation through initiatives dedicated to the community of Group employees, aimed at encouraging their participation in activities and social projects, is core in the activity of UniCredit Foundation since its inception in 2003.
This choice arises from the belief that promoting the culture of non-profit and volunteering among Group employees triggers a multiplier effect of the social value generated by UniCredit and strengthens the links between colleagues and communities.
Over the years, this involvement has ensured the success of various projects and has spread to all the countries in which the Group operates.
The main programme launched by the Foundation in this area is the Gift Matching Program, established in 2003 to support the Group's employees in their social commitment. Through this programme, the Foundation matches donations made by UniCredit employees to non-profit organisations. The Gift Matching Program has evolved over the years and has been joined by new projects and initiatives.
Alongside the social activities, UniCredit Foundation also involves the Group's employees through the provision of scholarships for participation in the Summer School in the most prestigious European universities, and research grants to award the Best Papers produced by colleagues in the fields of economics, finance, law and social sciences.
In this way, UniCredit Foundation makes available to the Group's employees the experience and academic network developed by the Foundation over years of collaboration with the European and international university world.
Main initiatives promoted in this area by UniCredit Foundation in recent years are the following
