Education support

UniCredit Foundation combines large-scale international partnerships with local, community-based initiatives to maximise its impact.

In today’s fast-paced world, ensuring that students gain essential skills is crucial for social engagement and reducing inequalities.

Despite efforts, one in five EU 15-year-olds struggles to meet basic standards in key subjects, and Europe faces severe teaching shortages. The COVID-19 pandemic further widened educational gaps, leading to increased dropout rates with long-term impacts on employment and social inclusion.

To address these issues, UniCredit Foundation launched partnerships with Teach For All and Junior Achievement Europe, and is sustaining local initiatives, aligning with its mission to tackle educational inequalities across UniCredit regions.

This dual approach enables UniCredit Foundation to drive systemic progress while fostering innovative, targeted solutions that address local challenges and support students where they need it most.

By collaborating with global organisations like Teach For All and Junior Achievement Europe, the Foundation addresses widespread educational inequalities with solutions that bring scale, synergy, and lasting change across all UniCredit regions.

Grassroots
Initiatives

The grassroots initiatives are programmes designed to address the specific needs of a territory and the communities that inhabit it. They are interventions that value local particularities and promote tailored solutions, developed in close collaboration with the key actors of the reference community. Through this participatory approach, such initiatives strengthen the sense of belonging and social cohesion, stimulate educational innovation, and foster an inclusive and sustainable model of development, capable of adapting to changes and challenges within the local context.
