UniCredit Foundation selected the "Studdy Buddy" programme through the Call for Education 2023.

The initiative aims to support 11 to 19 years old children - and their parents - from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. It provides free assistance to help them overcome challenges related to schoolwork and social life. The primary goal is to improve children's learning and social skills, knowledge, attitude towards schoolwork, and school environment.

These students require comprehensive academic, social, behavioural, and emotional support to participate meaningfully in the school community.

The programme addresses the educational needs of students in Ljubljana and Vrhnika, with online support available in the central Slovenian region.

"Studdy Buddy" offers both in-person and online learning support, tailored to individual needs, providing about 3 hours of learning support per week and 2-4 monthly support activities per child. It includes seminars for parents and children to expand their knowledge together. Volunteers collaborate with schools to offer individual, online, and in-person tutoring. The programme also connects families with other supportive services and maintains contact with schools. Additionally, families receive various forms of aid through humanitarian programmes and the multigenerational centre, ensuring holistic support. Local schools, non-profit organisations, social care centres, businesses, and volunteers are involved to offer diverse and inclusive activities for students.
