Chance 4 Children (C4C) is active in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since 1996.

C4C is dedicated to offering help and assistance primarily to children growing up in institutions like orphanages and children’s homes – away from the love and care of their parents. C4C helps them integrate smoothly into society – without being stigmatized as second-class citizens.

Besides spreading joy and laughter through our hospital clowns, C4C's goal is to develop and implement programs that assist socially handicapped children improve their quality of life and provide supplemental educational and vocational opportunities for them.

These programs are the essence of their current, hugely popular "Robin Hood" and "Springboard to life" initiatives and they provide a chance to later succeed in the job market and serve as a springboard to a prosperous adult life.

C4C motto remains: “Every Child Has the Right to an Education!"

UniCredit Foundation selected the "Springboard to Life (STL)" initiative through the Call for Education 2023.

The initiative aims to assist institutionalised children in their transition to society by providing supplementary educational opportunities. It teaches professional and practical skills, making participants employable or prepared to pursue higher education.

The programme targets disadvantaged children aged 11 to 19 from children's homes. These students often lack a supportive social network and require guidance and quality role models to aid their development.

The programme is implemented in all Czech Republic regions where these "children's homes" are located, ensuring comprehensive support for students transitioning to independent life.

"STL" adopts a multidisciplinary approach, including professional skills training, individual tutoring, and the "HELPMATE" online platform for self-education and community sharing. It prepares teachers to facilitate the students' transition by promoting motivation, student leadership, and viewing the transition as an opportunity for autonomy. The programme focuses on enhancing self-efficacy, self-esteem, and self-concept, which are vital for individual well-being and success in social, economic, and family spheres.
