In-Presa adopts a personalised educational approach that combines learning, practical experience, and close collaboration with families, schools, social services, and local communities. Through its activities, the cooperative aims to strengthen employability, foster social integration, and prevent situations of exclusion and marginalisation.

Main areas of intervention include:

• educational support programmes for students at risk of school failure and dropout;

• vocational training and apprenticeship opportunities;

• career guidance and school-to-work transition pathways;

• practical workshops in areas such as mechanics, electrical work, catering, tailoring and carpentry;

• training initiatives for teachers and educators;

• community engagement and collaboration with local stakeholders.

The initiative targeted students aged 11 to 19 who were at risk of leaving school, had already dropped out, were NEETs, or faced psychological and social vulnerabilities.

The programme operated across the Province of Monza and Brianza.

GO-PRO provided personalised and differentiated pathways designed to help young people rediscover their talents, strengthen soft skills, re-engage with education, or successfully enter the labour market.

The programme combined study support, orientation activities, vocational workshops, school reintegration pathways, leisure-time educational activities, and capacity-building initiatives for teachers and school leaders.

A distinctive feature of the programme was its structured methodology, based on connecting young people with supportive adults, identifying individual talents through hands-on experiences, and prioritising practical, work-based learning opportunities.

Quantitative results:

• 150 students participated in afternoon study-support pathways and 120 students in intensive morning school-support programmes.

• 440 lower-secondary students took part in practical orientation workshops, more than doubling the original target (220%).

• 50 upper-secondary students benefited from reorientation pathways to prevent educational disengagement.

• 222 young people who had already dropped out of school participated in the Casa dei Mestieri reintegration programme.

• 167 young people joined extracurricular workshops promoting the constructive use of leisure time.

• The programme engaged 100 teachers and educators and 30 school leaders, strengthening the capacity of local educational institutions to address dropout risks.

• A broad territorial network was created, involving dozens of schools and social services across the province.

Qualitative results:

• All students monitored within the Orientamento pathway showed improvements in personal, social, and vocational skills (100%).

• Within La Casa dei Mestieri, 90% of participants demonstrated progress in personal, social, practical, and vocational competencies, supporting their educational re-engagement and future transitions.

• 90% of participants in vocational workshops acquired or strengthened skills relevant to labour market entry.

• 80% of trained teachers and educators improved their professional skills, particularly in identifying students at risk of dropout and applying appropriate guidance and support strategies.

• The project successfully integrated educational support, practical orientation, vocational training, educator training, and local governance into a coordinated response to school disengagement and social vulnerability.

Overall, GO-PRO demonstrated the value of a community-based and personalised approach to tackling school dropout, building a strong local network capable of offering flexible educational pathways and supporting young people at different stages of educational risk and social exclusion.
