The "Salvaborgo" programme aims to prevent school dropout in the internal and marginal areas of Sicily, where early school leaving, and educational poverty rates are alarmingly high.

Salvaborgo focuses on students between the ages of 15 and 18 from internal or peripheral areas of Sicily who are vulnerable to leaving school early. By providing targeted support, the programme seeks to keep these students engaged in their education and reduce the risk of dropout.

The programme operates in the peripheral areas of the provinces of Catania and Agrigento in Sicily, addressing the educational challenges faced by students in these regions. By working within these communities, "Salvaborgo" aims to provide support where it is most needed.

"Salvaborgo" employs a multidimensional approach to tackle issues such as youth isolation, demotivation, low school engagement, and inadequate guidance. The programme creates opportunities for students to connect with local third-sector cultural organisations, fostering new synergies between schools and cultural associations. Additionally, the project involves third-sector organisations from the cultural sector to enhance the social and educational environment for students
