The "Compiti@Casa" project, picked up by UniCredit Foundation via the UCF Edu-Fund Platform in 2024, aims to tackle educational inequalities among middle school students in disadvantaged areas of Italy. It provides personalised academic support through online tutoring and social services.

The programme targets 1,600 students aged 11 to 14 years old at risk of dropout over three years, who have poor academic performance, limited study autonomy, and challenging socio-economic backgrounds. It focuses on students struggling academically and aims to reduce school dropout rates.

Implemented in the regions of Lazio (Rome, Rieti, Cittaducale), Campania (Napòes, Frattaminore, Quarto), Sicily (Ragusa, Acate, Comiso, Vittoria), and Piedmont (Turin, Novara, Borgomanero, Arona). The project collaborates with local schools and universities to support students in these areas.

"Compiti@Casa" offers semi-individual online tutoring (using a platform developed by the University of Turin) for four hours a week over fifteen weeks in both humanities and STEM subjects. Tutors are selected through university adverts, receive specialised training, and ongoing supervision. Additionally, a socio-educational secretariat works with school staff and local organisations to provide continuous support to students and families. The project aims to improve academic performance and study skills, increase family involvement, and create a replicable model for national implementation.
