Zavod Antona Martina Slomška promotes the holistic development of individuals through inclusive, innovative and person-centred education, supporting the acquisition of future-oriented skills, active participation and social cohesion.

Its mission is to foster holistic development, with a strong focus on education, personal growth and social responsibility as key drivers of community progress.

The organisation adopts an inclusive education model aimed at strengthening relevant competences throughout the lifespan. ZAMS’ vision is grounded in intergenerational cooperation, promoting dialogue between younger generations, the active population and older people, while fostering the transfer of knowledge, experience and values.

Through innovative teaching methodologies, the integration of information and communication technologies, and the development of its own intergenerational pedagogy, ZAMS contributes to strengthening 21st-century skills, reducing the digital divide, and ensuring a strong learner-centred approach within the educational process. In this context, education becomes a strategic tool to promote equal opportunities, active citizenship and sustainable development.

Building Futures For All (BFF) targets lower and upper secondary students at risk of educational exclusion, with the aim of preventing early school leaving and strengthening academic, social and motivational skills. The programme is implemented in selected secondary schools in Maribor and the surrounding area in Slovenia.

The initiative contributes to inclusive education and pedagogical innovation, with a strong focus on STEM competences, employability and active participation. It seeks to increase students’ motivation to learn, strengthen their sense of belonging and develop key transversal skills, including collaboration, problem-solving and communication, while also enhancing teachers’ competences and promoting a sustainable and replicable educational model.

The methodology is based on experiential and project-based learning (Maker’s Red Box model). Students work in teams on practical projects, such as designing a “City of the Future”, developing solutions and prototypes, while teachers are supported through training and mentoring. The programme also includes continuous progress monitoring and public presentations of outcomes, within an integrated approach that engages schools, families and the wider community.
