UniCredit Foundation is launching four new calls for scholarships, research grants, awards, and fellowships aimed at supporting students and young researchers in the fields of economics and finance.

With a total investment of over €1.9 million, UniCredit Foundation is proud to promote the following calls for proposals:

 

1. 2026 PhD Scholarships in Economics in memory of Fanno, Crivelli and Saccomanni

10 scholarships are available to support enrolment in PhD programmes in Economics offered by universities of internationally recognised excellence.

📅 Application deadline: 2 November 2026

 

2. Top-Up Fanno and Foscolo Fellowships

7 Top-Up Fellowships (2 Marco Fanno and 5 Ugo Foscolo) are available for university departments and research institutes in Economics or Finance located in countries where the UniCredit Group operates. The initiative aims to attract and retain outstanding PhD graduates, supporting their academic and professional development.

📅 Application deadline: 30 October 2026

 

3. Modigliani Research Grant

4 research grants designed to encourage and support outstanding young researchers in economics and finance employed at European universities located in countries where the UniCredit Group operates.

📅 Application deadline: 16 October 2026

 

4. Economic Job Market Best Paper Award

5 awards dedicated to young economists – PhD students and recent PhD graduates of any nationality – who will participate in the 2026 European Job Market for Economists. Organised in collaboration with the European Economic Association, the award seeks to promote excellence in economic research by recognising outstanding Job Market Papers and increasing the visibility of the most talented young economists.

📅 Application deadline: 12 October 2026
