Inclusive Learning: Cultural Diversity Education, Peer Norms, and Immigrant Student Empowerment
The project, led by:
Principal Investigator (PI): Sara Giunti, University of Pavia
Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI): Mariapia Mendola, University of Milano-Bicocca, Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano
addresses the persistent educational gap affecting students with immigrant backgrounds.
Project overview
Against the backdrop of increasing cultural diversity in schools, the research will evaluate the impact of an innovative educational intervention – the Inclusive Learning Program (ILP) – designed to promote inclusion, reduce discrimination, and foster social cohesion within classrooms.
The project focuses on the role of peer interactions, social norms, and cultural awareness in shaping students’ attitudes and behaviours, with the aim of improving both educational outcomes and well-being among students with migrant backgrounds.
