UniCredit Foundation, together with Fondazione Pesenti, confirms for the fifth consecutive year its important partnership with Fondazione Intercultura through the ‘A Scuola in Europa’ (At School in Europe) project aimed at deserving students from technical and vocational institutes in Lombardy, Campania and Tuscany.
Thanks to this collaboration, Fondazione Intercultura has reserved a total of 10 scholarships – 4 for Campania, 4 for Lombardy and 2 for Tuscany – for the same number of completely free three-month programmes in Flemish Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Portugal, Serbia, Turkey and Hungary. The initiative is aimed at deserving students enrolled in third year classes at technical institutes specialising in agriculture, tourism and IT/telecommunications and vocational institutes specialising in agriculture, food and wine, and hotel hospitality with an ISEE of up to €40,000.

‘Not just a trip: a training ground for the future’
The project is not simply a stay abroad, but a complete educational experience. Its true value lies in offering young people a journey of discovery: it helps them explore their identity and resources and develop a deep understanding of themselves. At the same time, it guides them to reflect on their behaviour as citizens of the world, preparing them to understand and act consciously in today's reality. A survey conducted this year by Ipsos on approximately 1,000 former participants in intercultural projects showed that the experience has a significant impact on their lives. Sixty-eight per cent of respondents recognised a decisive impact on the development of their identity, 58 per cent chose unconventional destinations and speak at least one other language besides English. Soft skills are enhanced: 97 per cent have improved their interpersonal skills, 89 per cent have become more independent and 74 per cent feel ready to face today's challenges.
