UniCredit Foundation announces the winners of the 16th edition of the Modigliani Research Grant

UniCredit Foundation, in collaboration with the Associazione Borsisti Marco Fanno, is pleased to announce the winners of the 16th edition of the Modigliani Research Grant, a competition dedicated to the memory of Nobel Laureate Franco Modigliani and aimed at supporting outstanding research in economics and finance.

The Modigliani Research Grant program provides four two-year research grants to young scholars employed at European universities within the countries where UniCredit operates. The initiative supports original, high quality, and yet unfunded research projects with the potential to make significant contributions to the academic community and public debate.

Following a highly competitive selection process conducted by the UniCredit Foundation Scientific Committee, the following four candidates have been awarded the 2025 research grants (listed in alphabetical order):

 Winners – Modigliani Research Grant 2025:

  •  Gaia Greta Dossi - Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF) - for the research project “The Supply of Science”

  • Luca Gemmi -  University of Bologna - for the research project “Climate Uncertainty in the Global Economy”

  • Clara Sievert - CERGE-EI (Charles University, Czech Academy of Sciences) -for the research project “Religion and State Power in Wartime Russia”

  • Riccardo Silvestrini - University of Naples Federico II - for the research project “Market Power Increase and Sectoral Heterogeneity: The Role of e-Commerce Platforms”
