For many years, Roberto has worked in helping relationships as a counsellor, coach and trainer, as well as being a certified Transcendental Meditation instructor.

He is also a Gift Matching Program (GMP) Ambassador.

Roberto's participation in the Gift Matching Programme arose as a natural evolution of his personal and professional journey. Over time, his continuous contact with people and their suffering has led him to understand how important it is not only to offer direct support, but also to help build a community capable of supporting those who are most vulnerable.

Being a GMP ambassador, for Roberto, is not simply a role but a moral responsibility. It is the way through which he can give meaning to a privilege we often take for granted: belonging to a part of the world that has everything, without always being fully aware of it.

This experience deeply transformed his understanding of giving. He realised even more clearly that giving does not merely mean offering something material, but acting on a deeper, inner level.

What struck him most was the generosity of his colleagues at UniCredit. Seeing how many people chose to take part, to contribute, and to engage with genuine openness profoundly moved him. It was a real and human movement, driven by sensitivity, care and a sincere desire to make a difference.

Being able to give - and to accompany others on the path of giving - reshapes the architecture of our hearts. It breaks the patterns of selfishness and greed, which are not only linked to money, but also to the time and attention we are willing to devote to others.

Every hour we choose to give to others, in any form, gives something precious back to us: it makes us better, more aware and, above all, happier.

This is what Roberto takes away: an authentic happiness, a joy that comes from feeling part of something greater and that makes us more complete as human beings.

A Meaningful Moment

One of the moments that made this experience truly meaningful was when, as a volunteer, Roberto shared a meal with the guests at a charitable meal service that provides free, hot meals to people experiencing poverty, homelessness or social exclusion.

Sitting at the table with them, listening to their stories, feeling their life experiences and meeting their eyes was deeply transformative. In those moments, Roberto felt clearly how small we are and how necessary it is to remain humble in the presence of the least among us.

It was not just about helping, but about being there - together with them - and sharing an authentic human space. And it was precisely in that shared experience that he grasped the truest meaning of giving.
