UCF Edu-Fund Platform

The UCF Edu-Fund Platform was launched with the aim of tackling educational poverty, focusing in particular on students aged 11 to 19.

To strengthen its commitment to combating educational poverty, UniCredit Foundation launched the “UCF Edu-Fund Platform” in 2024. Through this initiative, we have supported 30 innovative programmes aimed at identifying and addressing situations of educational poverty among young people, with total funding of €14 million.

The initiative was open to non-profit organisations with a strong presence and in-depth knowledge of the local or transnational context in the following countries: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

The platform remained active throughout the year, with applications accepted on a rolling basis from 22 July 2024 to 30 April 2025.

Priority was given to projects adopting a multidimensional approach, capable of addressing not only educational challenges but also the underlying factors that directly impact educational inequality among young people in the countries where UniCredit operates.

Eligible initiatives were required to focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Prevention of early school leaving

  • Teacher training and development

  • Promotion of university completion

  • Enhancement of employability by equipping students with skills relevant to the labour market
